Tumlingtar to Lukla trek is also a famous Cultural Trek in Nepal where you can learn and explore the unique culture and tradition of local Rai, and Sherpa, and other casts. During this trek, the trekkers can enjoy witnessing some of the highest mountain peaks of the earth including, Mera peak at 6,476 m, Everest at 8848m, Makalu at 8481, etc. The highest point of this trek is Salpa Pass (3,350m), which falls between the Sagarmatha and Makalu Barun National Park. Makalu Region is gifted with an incredible diversity of nature and culture which is home to 315 species of Butterflies and 88 species of mammals.  The best months to go on this trek are March, April, and May, and September, October, and November.

 The Tumlingtar to Lukla Trek begins from Tumlingtar and follows the Arun River until we reach into Irkhu Khola Valley. We pass through several Rai and Sherpa Village which is the best motivational aspect of this trekking route. This trekking itinerary takes you through colorful rhododendron forests, majestic waterfalls, and amazing landscapes of the Himalayas. Our trek continues ahead toward Salpa Pass. After exploring Salpa Pass, we continue towards Lukla and explore the splendid view of Mt. Everest along with other mountains. We fly to Kathmandu from Lukla to end this trek.

Food

The menu is a mixture of local, Indian, American, and continental cuisines and the foods will be all home-cooked, hygienic, fresh, tasty, and nutritious. You'll have a variety of options at the teahouse or lodge including popular Nepali Bhat, Pasta, Cereals, Eggs, Noodles, Potatoes, Vegetables, Fried rice, Soup, etc, and other Nepali food, Chinese Food, American food, Indian food, Continental food, etc. We recommend you have lemon tea, hot lemon, garlic soup, green tea, ginger tea, etc to stay away from high-altitude problems.

Accommodation

Accommodations during the Tumlingtar to Lukla Trek are at teahouses where you'll get the homely feeling and chance to explore Nepali culture and tradition. All the teahouses are run by locals and provide all the basic facilities including a hot shower at a low extra charge. You'll find all the room simple and comfortable usually with two beds with mattress blanket and pillows. Some will have an en-suit bathroom but most have shared bathrooms with the squat toilet in mountain areas. During your stay in Kathmandu, accommodation is more luxurious. You'll stay at hotels with a single room and attached bathrooms,  24 hours hot water, power,  TV, and laundry facility.

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu , alt. 1300m

First day of Tumlingtar to Lukla Trek. You may arrive at the airport anytime soon so our staff will be waiting for you with flowers and after your arrival, he/she will transfer you to the 3-star hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight stay.


Day 2: Fly to Tumlingtar, trek to Ramaelo dada - 1500m

Today, early morning flight to Tumlingtar serves an amazing view of lush hills and high snow-covered peaks. Upon arrival at Tumlingtar, you will meet the rest of the staff members and start the amazing yet short acclimatizing trek to Ramaelo Dada. We'll check-in at the hotel and spend overnight.


Day 3: Trek to Dovan , alt. 1100m.

We finally start our trek to Dovan after acclimatizing night at Dovan. The trek climbs on a steep trail and also passes through several ups and downs to reach Dovan. We come across the forest of oak, birch, and rhododendron, to reach Dovan for an overnight stay.


Day 4: Trek to Jaubari 2430m

On the way to Jaubari, we'll pass through small settlements surrounded by terraced agricultural land and teahouses operated by local people where you can stop for tea. The trail is most of the time ascending to reach Jaubari. Overnight stay.


Day 5: Trek to Sherpa gaun via Salpa pass (Alt.3050m)

Today, our walk takes you to the beautiful Salpa Pass which is a popular viewpoint offering the spectacular views of Mt Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Mera Peak and Everest, and other high peaks. From Salpa Pass, we take few hours of descending journey through beautiful pine and rhododendron forest to reach small Sherpa Gaun for an overnight stay.


Day 6:Trek to Bung  via Gudel gaun 1700m

We leave the place behind the early morning and go to Bung via Gudel Gaun situated at an elevation of 1,700m. Passing through rhododendron forests, and some mani walls, we reach Bung village for an overnight stay.


Day 7:Trek to Khiraule 2500m

Today, we'll see the magnificent views of Mera Peak(6476 m) and Mt Chamlang as we make our way towards Khraule village. You'll also pass through the Makalu Barun National Park office. We cross iron bridge and school and ascend to reach Khiraule for an overnight stay.


Day 8: Trek to pangom 2300m

Today's walk is mostly through the forests, meeting many lodges along the way. The day starts with a gradual downhill walk which rewards us with magnificent mountains and a natural view. Overnight at Pangom.


Day 9: Trek to Paiya 2800m

Today we'll walk for almost 6-7 hours on the easy and peaceful trail. You'll notice several guest houses and other facilities so you'll realize that this area is a popular tourist area. We spend overnight at a lodge.


Day 10: Trek to Lukla , alt. 2780m

The trail to Lukla features the stunning views of Khumbu Yul La (5761 m), Khongde (6168 m), Numbur (6959 m) and Kusum Khangaru (6367 m) and other mountains. You'll get many facilities like bakeries, the internet and other common teahouses along the way. Overnight at Lukla with camping.


Day 11: Fly to Kathmandu. , alt. 2780m

This is the last day of our trek. We fly to Kathmandu from Lukla which is the final point of our trek.
